Aromatherapy Recipes
Aromatherapy’s power is quickly becoming realized as it is rapidly becoming a necessity to many people. It is quick, inexpensive, and safe natural alternative to treating many medical ailments such as stress and headaches. Aromatherapy works because it reacts with olfactory sense in the brain. Aromatherapy can even be applied to the skin.
Creating your own aromatherapy recipes is not a hard task to do, but you must make sure to do a few things. First, you will need to make sure that you have essential oils. These oils will come in a variety of scents that have a different effect to the person applying the remedies. Some scents are common ones, such as rose, whereas others may be a little more enticing, such as “fast luck.” Make sure that the oil that you choose best suits your needs and tastes.
One you know which oil that you want, it is then time to administer the aromatherapy. You can do this through direct application, candles, incense and other ways. If you choose to administer the aromatherapy in a way that is not direct application, then you will need additional resources to do so.
If you decide that the best method for your aromatherapy is incense, then you must decide whether you want to use a cone or stick incense. Incenses come in different sizes ranging from mini to 19 inches long. Once you have determined whether you want sticks or cones and what size, then you will need to purchase the unscented incense version. Then you will need to purchase blending oil. Once you have your oil, take a small container and mix 1/3 blending oil to 2/3 essential oil. Feel free to add fragrance as well. Then you need to allow the incense to sit for at least 24 hours. Then let the incense dry for another 48 hours after removing it from the mixture. One thing to remember is that the more blending oil that you add to the mixture, then the less smoky the incense will be.
If your method of choice is through candles, then, like the incense, you have to decide which type and size that you prefer. Then you need to determine if you are going to make the candles yourself or are you going to just soak the candle in the essential oil of your choice. If you are soaking the candle, then make sure that you leave the wick exposed. To ensure that the essential oils make it to the core, you may want to probe the candle with needles. Once you have done this, make sure that you place the candle in the container of essential oil and let it soak for 24 hours. Then remove the candle and allow it to dry for another twelve hours. If you are going to be making your own candle, then make sure that you mix the essential oil in the mixture used to compose the candle.
